The Real Secrets to Success

by Seun Samuel Maku

1. You Must Be Willing To Act

Everyone of us have something to do. We have that thing that has been bothering us and we have just been putting it aside for a later time.

Time does not wait for any man and would certainly not start with you. So it’s time you get up from your comfort zone and begin to do that thing you have always wanted to do. That thing that your mind has been bugging you about.

2. Don’t Be Afraid To Fail

People fail all the time. Most of these successful men and women we all talk about everyday of our lives and some of which some of us try to model our lives after were sometimes in their life at one point or the other were failures, they failed in most of their endeavours and most people had already written them off, including their parents and teachers. But one thing that made them stand out and got them to where they are right now is the ability to know that failure is not the end of something. The fact that you failed at something does not mean you must give up. If your heart is one something and you tried and failed at it, it means there is something you don’t know yet and your mind finds a better way to handle and deal with the situations and in turn your mind gets sharper. Thomas Edison failed nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine (9,999) times before he got the electric direct current bulb working. Albert Einstein’s teachers said that he was incapable of learning and yet look at how he has changed the world. Richard Branson couldn’t even read well and was diagnosed with a learning disorder. Imagine if he had said then “I cannot read well, maybe I should just stop trying”, do you think we would ever hear about the virgin brand or Richard Branson? No. So no matter what you set your mind on to achieve you must be ready to fail so you can move forward in life.

3. Ask For Help When You Need It

Nobody knows everything. Not even the greatest savant in the world.

We all, at one point in our lives or another will need the help of other people. You should not be too proud to ask for help.

Asking for help does not make you look vulnerable or weak. It in-fact shows character and humility.

When you get help from people, you propel your success and it takes you lesser time to achieve what you want to achieve in life.

“Ask and it shall be given unto you.” Even the bible says so.

You should never be afraid of asking people for help because most of them will always be happy to help.

The late Steve Jobs says it that when you ask people for help they will always be glad to help you and that most people never become successful because they never asked for help when they needed it. They were either too scared to ask of were wondering if they would be taking too much of the people’s time.

Let me put it in another way, when you ask people for help, especially successful people who seem to never have the time, they often see themselves as the light that entered your heart when you were in need of help and would be very glad that you asked for their help.

So instead of seeing asking for help as a waste of your helpers’ time, see it as adding an extra dose of happiness in their hearts because of their joy at having the opportunity to help you.

And never be too busy to help people in times of need. There is no greater satisfaction on earth than the one where you help people around you.
